We headed to Lordship Rec for the first round of the season. Our first hill climb race for several years, saw Stroud Green as king of the hill, with Risley in second place, ahead of South Grove in third.
Tailored training sessions in strategic use of gears before the races led to some very fast times up the challenging steep and curvy path from the cafe to the top: Lucas from Stroud Green and Xavier from Risley both completed the climb in under 15 seconds – faster than all bar one of the adults who attempted it!
The two fastest girls, Izabella from Risley and Sharon from South Grove – both only in Year 5 – reached the top in under 16 sixteen seconds, with only 1/10th of a second between their times. Fantastic!
Huge thanks to all the teachers and riders and volunteers for taking the time to attend. We hope to see you all again at our upcoming events this season – our next race is on Ducketts Common on Fri 14th November – see you there!
